Popcorn is one of our favorite snacks, along with a gazillion other people. Earlier this year we were introduced to Kernel Season’s, a company that makes popcorn seasonings and premium popcorn.

There’s some interesting facts about popcorn that I didn’t know prior to trying Kernel Season’s products. Let’s see how many you knew.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI), recommend people eat more popcorn as a way of increasing fiber in their fiber diet, thereby reducing the risk of some forms of cancer.

The American Dental Association includes popcorn on its list of recommended sugar-free snacks.

The American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association permit popcorn as a bread exchange on weight-control diets.

The Feingold Diet for hyperactive children permits popcorn because it contains no artificial additives.

We’ve tried more than half of the fourteen different varieties of popcorn seasoning which include White Cheddar, Butter, Nacho Cheddar, Caramel, Ranch, Parmesan & Garlic, Apple Cinnamon, Barbeque, Cajun, Chocolate Marshmallow, Jalapeno, Salt, Sour Cream & Onion and Kettle Corn. Each of the certified Kosher cRc flavors are all natural blends made with real cheese and contain 0-5 calories per serving. All are gluten-free except for the white cheddar and the jalapeno. The seasonings contain no MSG and contain 56 percent less sodium than other popcorn seasonings. We’ve also tried the premium popping corn and the microwave popcorn, both of which were excellent.
