My 3 Tips For Getting Dinner Ready In A Flash

Samsung Home Appliances and TwitterMoms are asking community members to answer the following question. “With Our Busy Schedules, What Are Your 3 Valid Tips for Getting Dinner Ready in a Flash?” This was easy for me since I work all day and don’t have or want to hours to spend cooking. I’m a big fan of any tasty meal I can get ready in a hurry, and often look for new ideas and ways to make that happen. Here are my favorite ways to save time at dinner time.

  1. Cook meals calling for similar ingredients at the same time. I will spend a night cooking several different meals all at once. I will cook two or three meals that call for chicken on one night, two or three that call for beef on another night. Then I refrigerate or freeze them and just pop them into the oven to reheat.
  2. Have soup for dinner. If you know you’re going to have chicken, buy some extra. When you’re cooking that meal make a big batch of soup at the same time. It’s easy to make. Plus, soup is always better the second day anyway.
  3. Use tools and appliances that work for you. Like rice? Consider a rice cooker with a timer. Enjoy slow cooked meals? Get a slow cooker with a built in timer (I want one of those!) Use a coffee maker that you can program to brew ahead of time.

Samsung makes that. It’s a French Door Refrigerator.

I desperately need a new fridge. Ours is more than 15 years old now and hanging on by a thread. I read about the French Door Refrigerator and fell in love. I’d love to have one of these!

Good tips except for hubby. He refuses to eat soup. Problem with appliances is I have run out of coounter and shelf space.

I love soup for any easy dinner. It can adapted to all seasons; warm & filling for fall and winter such as tomato & pumpkin soup, light veggie soup for the warmer months. It can easily dressed up with some crusty bread. I usually make a big batch and divide this into portions and freeze!
